Science and technology has uncovered the secrets to nearly everything. From mapping the human genome to cloning sheep and genetically modifying food, we have deduced everything down to its smallest quantifiable unit. This project breaks down an organic tree to metal links. Audio coming soon.

Design

Benny went skinny dipping in the ocean when a dog ran off with his clothes. Luckily his phone was still there and was able to use it to create distractions as he would run through various scenarios all his way back home. My pitch was to recreate a beach scene with elements from the beach as well as the girls he went swimming with. Users would be able to upload their photos where Benny would run through. Users would also be able to play various games such as throwing clothes on him while highlighting the new premium service from Boost Mobile.

Design

Pitch for a viral marketing campaign for Gears of War (Xbox game). On the main site, users would be able to download their own death certificate according to the game. This game focuses on this idea of Emergence Day where locust creatures emerge from the ground and kill nearly everyone in the world and destroy everything. One area of the site would allow people to upload their own photos and apply death to themselves.

Design, Animation

Man Raze is made up from Phil Collen of Def Leppard, Paul Cook of Sex Pistols, and Simon Laffy of Girl. Site design and animation reflects the music itself. After Effects was used as an integral part in telling the Man Raze story, yet the project was eventually opted for a strictly HTML version.

Pro Launch is a resource for golfers seeking assistance in turning pro. Step by step, all the tools one needs to achieve their goals. Designed to be clean, simple, and effective.

Animation, Development

Took design comps from Art Director Jeff Toll and brought them to life to create much more than just an 'online brochure'. Used MC Tween and After Effects for the animation.

Flash Development, Typography, UI Design

Gave people a way to celebrate the holidays by decorating their own digital Xmas tree. Drag, drop, scale and rotate. Took advantage of Senocular's transform tool AS3 script. This is the first project Nick used AS3 on. He worked with illustrator Jared Nickerson and developer Mark Lampert closely to deliver this project on Facebook. Save function does not work on demo.

Was able to visit the mission at the early stages of the project and shoot film. Used elements of the mission directly in the design, from the textures to the lantern to reiterate the history of this landmark.

We are not all the same shape and size. We all know that we should have a balanced diet, but may not necessarily know how much of each food group we should eat. To spread awareness amongst youth, I created this mock campaign. Each poster tells a story about the person in it and how their diet is tailored to their lifestyle. The audience is able to see the differences in diets according to the characters in the campaign. They will want to become proactive in their own diet and discover their 'FOOD ID' is.

Nick Terry solves problems by telling stories with design. Nick has specialized in websites since 2001 when he started working at Blast Advanced Media. He has recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. The program focused on design theory and taught not only graphic, but environmental, interaction, and lighting design. While at Davis, Nick worked at jUXT Interactive over a summer and BKWLD while taking classes. He further progressed his skills in design and technology while solving problems and delivering projects for high profile clients.

Nick is passionate and driven in design. He strives to use new technologies when it benefits the project to create engaging experiences. He works well in teams as well as alone. Nick currently freelances interactive design and resides in Northern California where he grew up.

When Nick is not spending countless hours in front of the computer, he enjoys listening to live music, playing Scrabble and anything he can do outdoors... To name a few, he enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, soccer, basketball and ultimate frisbee.
